I have just refilled my black and color 564XL cartridges with some refill ink. The 3 colors work fine but the black worked for about 2 "Clean Printheads" cycles and then stopped printing. No error messages, just stopped putting ink on the paper. Do I need to remove and clean the printhead? Do the estimated ink levels need to be reset? If so, how? Did the printer shut down the black because the estimated level is so low? Other?

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
HP recommends that you use genuine HP ink or toner supplies. HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP or refilled cartridges.
Let's try to Reset the printer:
-
Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
-
Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
-
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
-
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
-
Wait at least 60 seconds.
-
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
note:HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
-
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
-
Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
-
Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Check If these steps resolved the issue, refer to the Article Counterfeit ink cartridge
And, also try updating the printer firmware from here
