I'm using a 280 gsm Kodak ultra premium photo paper to print my photos/

I see that only the black/dark ink does not dry. Earlier, a HP support personnel asked me to change settings to make the printer use color cartridge to combine colors to make it black. I've forgotten what i did.

Is there any solution to this?

So, here's what i did.

I removed the black ink cartridge and printed using only the color cartridge.

I'm using a 280 GSM paper!! Still i have to go through all this trouble?
What's the problem here? Is it that the printer is not able to penetrate the ink efficiently?

It would be great to understand the reason i see this behavior. Or is it an issue with some settings? I have tried initially with "Other Glossy Photo Paper" and "Best" quality.

Later just tried "Other Photo Paper" and "Best" quality while i printed with the black cartridge removed.
