Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Are you able to copy in black?
Print a print quality report:
-
Load plain, white paper into the paper tray.

On the printer control panel, press the down arrow
to select Settings, and then press OK.

Press the down arrow
to select Tools, and then press OK.
-
Press the down arrow
to select Print Quality Report, and then press OK.
The report prints.
Let me know if you see any black on this report.
Align the printhead:
Use the Align Printer tool on the printer control panel to align the printhead.

Load letter or A4, unused, plain white paper into the paper tray.

On the product control panel, press the Down Arrow (
) to select Settings, and then press OK.

Press the Down Arrow (
) to select Tools, and then press OK.

Press the Down Arrow (
) to select Align Printer, and then press OK. The product prints an alignment page.

Open the lid.

Place the alignment page on the scanner glass with the printed side down, and then position it on the front right corner of the glass.

Close the lid, and then press OK. The product scans the alignment page.

Follow the control panel instructions to complete the alignment.

Recycle or discard the alignment page.

Dear Betty, Many thanks for your reply. No, I can't copy in black either. Other colours are fine. I have tried aligning the printhead, etc. I would be grateful for any more ideas. The printhead health is shown as good and I have tried 3 new black ink catridges, so I don't know what the problem is!
