Greetings!
Thanks for being a part of the HP Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, there's an issue with black not printing.
Don't worry, I'm here to help! Let's try these steps -
Solution# 1 Printer Reset -
1) Take out the cartridges.
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Wait for 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
Solution# 2 Align the ink cartridges -
1) Lift the scanner lid and then place the alignment page with the print side down on the right-front corner of the scanner glass.
3) Close the scanner lid.
4) Press the Start Copy Black button or the Start Copy Color button on the printer control panel. The printer aligns the ink cartridges.
Solution# 3 Clean the ink cartridges -
1) Load U.S. Letter or A4 size, unused, plain paper into the input tray and press the Power button to turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
2) Open or search for the HP folder in your list of installed software programs, click the folder for your printer, and then click the name of your printer.
3) The HP Printer Assistant software opens.
4) On the HP Printer Assistant window, click Maintain Your Printer.
5) Click the Device Services tab, and then click Clean Ink Cartridges. A Print Quality Diagnostic page prints.
Solution# 4 Clean the Copper Contacts -
Please refer to step# 3, 4 and 5 from this documents.
Let me know how that goes.
