Hi @Rdavis19,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw is displaying a blank screen after a hard factory reset, it could indicate a problem with the firmware or hardware. Here are steps to troubleshoot this issue.
Perform a Power Reset:
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the printer and from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and reconnect it to the printer.
- Turn the printer back on.
Check for Firmware Update via USB:
If the screen remains blank, the firmware may be corrupted. You can try to update the firmware using a USB drive.
- Download the latest firmware for the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw from the HP support website.
- Load the firmware file onto a USB drive.
- Plug the USB into the printer and see if it attempts to boot or update.
Check Control Panel Cables (For Advanced Users):
If the screen remains blank and you are comfortable handling hardware:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it, and check the control panel ribbon cable for any loose connections.
- If a loose connection is found, securely reconnect it.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
