When printing a 6x4 pic from iPad which shows as full page on preview, it seems to be printing it but like it has moved up. The left hand side (landscape) or top (portrait) is always missing and everything is pushed up. This leaves a large space at the right hand side/bottom of the picture. This only gets worse the more you try and print. Have tried cleaning and aligning printer but nothing seems to work.

Check that your photo paper is supported - paper size / type AND whether the paper is within the weight limitations for this paper type.

Product Specifications for the HP ENVY 5020 All-in-One Printer (M2U91B)

Section Paper Handling

Next,

Load the paper according to the instructions in the  User Guide

Page 11

Next,

Alert the printer to the Paper Size & Type

Reminder

HP Smart Mobile >> Paper Size / Type must be corrected / adjusted before opening the item to be printed.

Example - Retain / Modify / Check Paper Size & Type - Tray and Paper Management

Next,

HP Smart - Windows - Printer supports Borderless printing (paper size / type limitations - see specs)

HP Smart- Windows - can be adjusted to print Borderless on supported paper size / type.

If your HP Smart Mobile app supports Borderless printing (Fill Page),

Considerations

"Fit to Page" option retains the entire image file but might force uneven margins when the image shape does not exactly match the paper shape and size.

"Fill Page" prints the image by adjusting the size of the image to fit the shape of the paper.  Crop might cut parts from the original image to allow the image to fill the shape of the paper.

Example -

HP Smart Mobile > Print Photos > Open image to print > Click Print icon

Select Transform > Resize > "Fit to Page" OR "Fill Page" (options as available)

Thanks Dragon-Fur.

Have printed over 200 pics using the same photo paper and I change the settings in the printer so the paper size and type. On the iPad I choose a pic and then press print it then shows it as printing 6x4 on photo paper.

Been doing this the same way since day 1 and suddenly it has started to not print correctly.

Do you have any other ideas/tips?

Sorry - no magic.

Cleaning (automatic and cleaning the rollers), changing out the photo paper (even just removing stack and flexing), checking and perhaps changing out the ink (yes, I dislike that one, too)... Making sure the settings are correct....

It "kind of" seem the printer rollers are catching...

An 'Out of Paper' error displays, printer does not pick paper

Yep, should work.

Rats.

Oh, sorry for the delay in response - my mailer got excited and dumped a bunch of my Community mail into the spam bin.

Sorted now but I didn't catch the issue right away since it was hit-and-miss.  Grumble...
