Hi @SageArts,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A blinking red LED on your HP ScanJet Pro 2600 f1 scanner, combined with the paper not being pulled in, could indicate a few potential issues.
- Paper Jam or Misfeed: Even if you don't see visible paper stuck, there could be small fragments causing a blockage. Check the entire paper path, including rollers and trays, for anything stuck inside.
- Roller or Motor Issues: The rollers responsible for pulling the paper might be dirty or worn out, or there could be a problem with the motor that drives the rollers. Try cleaning the rollers with a lint-free cloth and some isopropyl alcohol.
- Scanner Calibration Error: If the scanner's sensors are not properly calibrated, it could trigger the red LED and prevent operation. You can try resetting the scanner by turning it off, unplugging it, waiting 30 seconds, and then plugging it back in.
- Firmware or Software Issue: The scanner might need a firmware update or could have an issue with its software. Check the HP website for any available firmware updates and try reinstalling the scanner drivers.
- Overheating or Power Issue: If the scanner has been in continuous use, it might be overheating. Let it cool down, and check that it's connected to a stable power source.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
