I have a HP Smart Tank 7602, and when I tried to turn it on and connect the power cord connected today, it just blinks amber repeatedly with the error code 024A493F on the screen.

 

I tried to unplug and plug back in after waiting a minute, but it still is doing this. Any ideas?

Check Power Connection:

  • Ensure the power cord is securely inserted into both the printer and the power outlet. Try using a different power outlet if possible.

Inspect Ink Tanks:

  • Verify that the ink tanks are filled correctly and that the ink level sensors are functioning. Low ink levels can sometimes trigger warning lights.

Remove and Inspect Cartridges:

  • Carefully remove and inspect each ink cartridge. Ensure there are no leaks or damage, then reseat them securely in their respective slots.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open the printer and inspect for any stuck paper or debris that could be blocking internal sensors. Carefully clear any visible jams.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Unplug the printer from the power source, wait several minutes, then reconnect it while holding down the power button for 10 seconds. Release the button and check if the error persists.

Consult Printer Manual:

  • Reference your printer's manual or HP's official website for specifics on the error code 024A493F. It may provide targeted interventions for the issue.

Firmware Update:

  • Check for any available firmware updates. Sometimes errors can be resolved with updated software. Visit the HP support page for downloads.
