Hi,

I have had nothing but problems with this printer since buying it a few years ago. I can understand problems arising when it is not used for a longer period of time and the ink cartidges can dry out but I since bought new ink cartridges as I needed it working.

Everything worked fine for a few weeks and now all of a sudden I cannot get rid of the flashing orange light that appears next to the colour toner icon and the screen suggests the black is out of ink which just cannot be the case as I put a new cartridge in so recently. I have tried every method of toying with the ink cartirdge itself, cleaning it, cleaning the contact points, but nothing works. I know it has ink in it though because if I drag it across tissue paper it leaves a perfect black line like there is no shortage of ink.

The colour cartridge is also full and because I had a spare one lying around I changed this just to see if something would happen but problem still persists.

Have tried downloading hp doctor program to see if that may help but I just get asked to contact support.

Any help would be much appreciated as I don't really want to be replacing the printer.

I have a new black ink cartridge arriving later today bbut it seems ridiculous that almost every time I want to print something, I am buying new ink cartridges.

Thanks in advance.
