The printer has a blue screen with a power icon and error B8493FE4. All the lights on the display and on the side are flashing constantly. I have tried resetting and it is up to date on firmware. HP support bot could not recognize this and wasn't able to help.

Hi @scott6541,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error message you're seeing on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028 printer, "Blue Screen Power Icon Error B8493FE4," indicates that there may be a hardware or firmware issue with your printer. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue.
- Restart the Printer: First, try turning off the printer and unplugging it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. This simple step can often resolve minor glitches.
- Update Firmware: Outdated firmware can cause various issues. Visit the HP support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. If so, follow the instructions to update the firmware.
- Perform a Factory Reset: If the problem persists, you can try performing a factory reset on your printer. Be aware that this will reset all settings to their default values, so you may need to reconfigure your printer afterward. The steps to perform a factory reset can vary depending on the printer model, so consult your printer's user manual or the HP website for specific instructions.
- Check for Hardware Issues: If none of the above steps work, it's possible that there's a hardware issue with your printer. You can check for any obvious physical problems, like loose cables or damaged components.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
