Came home 2 days ago to find my PhotoSmart 5510 had a flashing Blue screen on the touch screen with the error code C4EBA23D.
I did several recommended reset and hard resets to clear the code. including those that recommended removing the ink cartridges, except the carriage is locked in its "Parking Place" where I cannot remove them.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
While the printer is ON, open the cartridge access door and then unplug the power cord from back of the printer.
Try to turn the small white dial inside the printer located to the left of the cartridges. Twist that a few times until the carriage( cartridge holder) is free to move .
If issue still persists, its time to go for a new printer.

Unfortunately Jabzi, Those steps were NOT successful. I do appreciate the time and energy you expended on this reply. I did see the screen go just a tick past the progress bar that shows just before the Printer goes into boot mode. That is as far this machine gets before the blue screen and error code pops up. I just realized I did not mention that in my earlier post. so In thinking if there was a way to reload the onboard software/firmware, that might fix the issue. Im not sure, just spitballing here.

Well Jabzi,
That seemed to solve the problem, however I was not able to reach the white plastic gear, but I did get to thew Black plastic gear, rotated it several times and plugged the printer back in and it booted up perfectly and was able to print a test page.
Now to set in back in my printer cabinet and test it there to be sure the problem is truly solved..
