Hi - found a link on here that was TEN YEARS OLD - and so it seems my problem of blue (cyan) cartridge not printing is not a new one! I was in the middle of a 100 page colour print job and the blue just stopped. Contacted helpline - extended guarantee ran out a month before! Put through to Instant Ink I pay nearly £10 a month. With them ( and on my own) I must have run through the clean heads etc routine a dozen times, blue still won't work. Instant Ink to their credit tried, sent me three new sets of cartridges now with the instruction that putting new cartridges in would solve the problem (it didn't) with the warning: if it doesn't work, you have no guarantee, you will need to buy a new printer, HP can offer you a good price. Is that REALLY necessary or the answer? The printer has printed roughly 8,500 sheets and was going along nicely and suddenly the blue stops. Why isn't this fixable - but importantly, why after ten years of people having the same problem doesn't it get sorted. Very frustrating. I do vaguely remember having a similar problem a year or so back but the cartidge (can't remember the colour) mysteriously kicked into action when I kept using the printer! That hasn't worked this time, using printer without blue. Any ideas anyone?

@NoisyParkser, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand your concern. It seems like the printhead has gone bad and hence the replacement Cyan ink cartridges could not resolve this issue.

These are mechanical parts and can go bad with years of wear and tear.

If the printer is under warranty, HP will replace it for you. If it is out of warranty, I'm afraid there are no other options than to upgrade the printer.

You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
