HP OfficeJet Pro 9014 All-in-One Printer

I reset my printer because it was no longer printing jobs. Now I have to do the initial setup, but that's not possible because there's a blue screen and all the LEDs are flashing. Blue screen code: B8158376

I've tried everything you can find on the internet. But the blue screen keeps coming back. Firmware is current from August 2024.

Hi @quorle,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The blue screen error code B8158376 on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9014 typically indicates an issue with the printer's printhead, possibly related to its calibration or a hardware malfunction. Since you've already attempted multiple troubleshooting steps without success, here's a more focused approach to address this issue.

Power Cycle the Printer

  • Unplug the printer from the wall outlet.
  • Leave it unplugged for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and power it on to see if the error persists.

Reinstall the Printhead

Since the error code points to a potential printhead issue:

  • Open the printer's access panel and remove the printhead carefully.
  • Inspect the printhead for any obvious damage or debris.
  • Clean the printhead with a lint-free cloth, if necessary.
  • Reinstall the printhead properly and ensure it's seated correctly.
  • Close the access panel and power cycle the printer again.

Reset the Printer to Factory Settings

Since you've already attempted a reset, make sure to perform a hard reset:

  • Unplug the printer from the power source.
  • Press and hold the power button for 20-30 seconds.
  • Release the button, then plug the printer back in and power it on.

Check for Firmware Corruption

Even though the firmware is current, a firmware update may have been interrupted or corrupted. In such cases:

  • Try to reinstall or rollback the firmware to a previous version using the HP Support website or HP Smart App, if available.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
