I've looked around and found a few lame answers but I want to figure out if this is going to be fixed in the future with a new driver or something. Previously on my old printer (HP officejet 8620), I could print on PLAIN paper using borderless printing and since I 'upgraded' to the 9010 series I can no longer do this. WHY??? What a limiting factor and had I known, I would never have switched printers! I loved the way I could always print borderless on plain paper, making birthday hats for kits, and making tri-fold brochures for clients who don't want formal brochure paper which NEVER folds well anyway!!
So what gives HP?? Why did you snatch this capability from us?? What is the fix?? Please tell me you're going to fix this with a driver, there is NO reason to take this capability from those of us who use their printer often and have max level of insta-ink subscriptions, please explain and let us know this is going to be fixed!!!

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
The specifications of this printer read that it supports borderless printing only on photo and brochure paper only, up to 8.5 x 11 in (US letter), 210 x 297 mm (A4)

That wasn't helpful, my question is WHY did they choose to take this option away, it was on ALL the previous officejet printers because I used this feature ALOT with my OfficeJet Pro 8620, and had I known, I certainly would not have upgraded to this printer, like I said it's not an improvement, it's a limitation and I just want to know why would they enforce this limitation with this printer, it's supposed to be an 'upgrade' to previous officejets. I spoke to Tech support a few days ago and they are going to request this feature be reinstalled from the engineers.
FYI: For others who think they have found a work around, we (me & HP tech support) installed ALL the old drivers, but did not have any luck with it working. Even setting to borderless print, would not work on plain paper, so my work around is using HP matt brochure paper, not ideal, but it will force it to do borderless on other papers. Again, big limitation on this printer HP, please fix it!!!
