Deskjet 3054 All-in-One Printer J610a
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I keep receiving this message on the printer display and cannot work around it. I have used both my Windows & Mac operated laptops; checked if firmware needed to be updated (it did not, but I installed any software needed); I have cleaned the cartridges, bought new 61 cartridges, had to clean the printer and the new cartridges; checked off all the boxes from the Virtual Assistant, to find that since the printer is not under warranty, I cannot even ask to PAY for product support/replacing a part of the printer. I cannot print a test page because the error warning overrides that. Please advise. (I do not want to buy a new printer; I want to fix this one as it is in great condition). Thank you.

@fixthisprinter1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

What is the error message?

Insert one ink cartridge at a time to identify the defective ink cartridge.

For now, kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi Kumar,

Thanks for the reply. Please see the following points:

- What is the error message? "Both Cartridges Problem"

- Insert one ink cartridge at a time to identify the defective ink cartridge.  I did, and it's both.

- For now, kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge I have already. I have cleaned both the printer and the cartridges. I have bought both new cartridges. I have checked to update firmware (even software updates); there wasn't anything to update. I really think it's the printer ink receptors but not sure why or how.

Please advise.
