I just purchased an HP 78955 printer and it also doesn't like my setup cartidges.  I see some other users have had success but not me.  What else should I try

Hi @MrRWM

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand, you're getting error message while using set up cartridges in your printer.

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Have you tried regular ink cartridges?

Let's try troubleshooting steps from the link.

Step 1: Make sure the ink cartridges are compatible

Step 2: Make sure the ink cartridges are correctly installed

Step 3: Clean the electrical contacts

Step 4: Reset the printer

Step 5: Clean the ink cartridge contacts again

Keep me posted how this goes.

Cheers!

I installed new cartidges and it appears that the printer accepted them and performed the setup.  After printing a couple page I reinstalled the setup cartidges and the printer did not display the error messages.  Hopefully, everything will work.
