HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e All-in-One Printer

Brand new 9125e having non-stop issues. It won't be basic tasks with being power cycled first - very time consuming of course. Also it has paper jams like I have never experienced. It is going back unless I get some fast help

Hi @TFL87,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your new HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e. Frequent paper jams and the need to power cycle the printer before performing basic tasks are frustrating problems, especially with a brand-new device. Let's try to address these issues:

1. Check Paper Quality and Loading

  • Use Recommended Paper: Ensure you're using the recommended paper type and size for your printer. Poor-quality or incorrect paper can lead to frequent jams.
  • Load Paper Properly: Make sure the paper is loaded correctly in the tray:
    • Fan the paper stack before loading to prevent sheets from sticking together.
    • Do not overfill the paper tray; ensure it's not exceeding the maximum capacity line.
    • Adjust the paper guides snugly against the paper without bending it.

2. Inspect and Clean the Printer

  • Check for Obstructions: Carefully inspect the paper path and rollers inside the printer. Remove any debris, bits of paper, or foreign objects that could be causing jams.
  • Clean the Rollers: Dirty or worn-out rollers can cause paper jams. Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water to gently clean the rollers.

3. Update Firmware and Software

  • Firmware Update: Ensure your printer is running the latest firmware. You can check for updates via the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP support website.
  • Driver Update: Update your printer drivers on your computer, especially if you're using a recent operating system like Windows 11 or macOS Sonoma.

4. Reset the Printer

  • Perform a factory reset of the printer to clear any internal errors:
    1. Go to the printer’s Settings menu.
    2. Navigate to Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.
    3. Confirm the reset, and then reconfigure the printer settings.

5. Check for Network and Power Issues

  • Stable Power Supply: Ensure that the printer is connected to a stable power supply. Avoid using power strips or surge protectors that may cause power fluctuations.
  • Network Connection: If the printer is connected via Wi-Fi, ensure a strong, stable connection. Consider using a wired Ethernet connection if possible to reduce connectivity issues.

Hi @TFL87,

Please find the next steps.

6. Test Different Tasks

  • Test Print, Copy, and Scan: After performing the above steps, try printing, copying, and scanning to see if the issues persist. This can help identify if the problem is isolated to one function or affects all tasks.

7. Paper Jam Prevention Settings

  • Check Paper Jam Prevention Features: Some HP printers have settings that can help prevent paper jams, such as slower printing speeds or adjusting the paper type settings. Explore these options in the printer’s menu.

If the problems continue, it may be necessary to contact HP phone Support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

I have the same issue. It will not print unless physically unplugged and plugged back in. Restarting through the app or from the printer does not work. It HAS to be unplugged. I have to do this daily and the "solutions" posted do not address this issue and did not work.

I have same issues with HP Officejet 9125 - have you found any solutions?  It is definitely a problem with the wireless adapter in the printer

I setup another W-Fi printer next to it, ping both continuous (-t), the 9125 printer has network outage every few minutes for 30-60 seconds.  The other devices and printers are fine.

I did not see any options in the wireless configuration to resolve, issues occur with both 2.4 and 5 wireless networks
