I bought a HP2810e last week, set up fine, used for a few days and ink ran out. Instant ink subscription activated on day of purchase, no ink had arrived a week later, I've taken this up with HP separately. I had to go out and buy a new cartridge in the middle of a really important and time sensitive print job, now ink is showing as full and cartridge clearly has ink in but it is still printing with faint text in half of the document! I am so annoyed and frustrated, I literally bought the printer to avoid anything like this inconveniencing me this week as it was so important!

Hi @K111111111,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've had quite a frustrating experience with your new HP printer. I'm sorry to hear about the issues you've encountered, especially during such an important time.

As for the faint printing issue despite installing a new cartridge, there could be a few possible reasons for this.

  • Improper installation: Ensure that the new ink cartridge is properly installed. Sometimes, cartridges may not be inserted fully or may not click into place securely, which can lead to printing issues.
  • Air bubbles in the cartridge: Occasionally, air bubbles can get trapped inside the ink cartridge, preventing proper ink flow. You can try gently rocking the cartridge back and forth to help disperse any air bubbles.
  • Printer alignment/calibration: It's possible that the printer may need to be aligned or calibrated to ensure optimal print quality. Most printers have a built-in alignment or calibration function that can be accessed through the settings menu.
  • Printer head cleaning: Over time, printer heads can become clogged or dirty, leading to faint or streaky prints. Many printers have a cleaning function that can be used to clean the printer heads. This can usually be found in the printer settings menu.
  • Defective cartridge or printer: In rare cases, the new ink cartridge itself may be defective, or there could be an issue with the printer hardware.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
