Just cleared a paper jam. Printer now makes grinding noise before printing. HP help topics on web don't appear to cover my printer model.

Hi I would like to assist to the best of my ability to solve your problem.I hope the information i supply will be of help.
Some of these printers you can loosen the bottom plate of the machine to get better access to that rollers. But it's not so friendly to work on but if you want to try.If the model does not allow you to open it from the bottom then this will be not easy to get the problem solved. If the machine is still under warranty you might have it looked at by HP.Hope this will help.
It is so nice to give some help where possible and the forum is a great idea Thank You.Sometimes a picture speaks louder than words to find a solution.Should you find my help use full just give some credit for my effort please.

All that i can think is that something is still under the roller making the noise. If you open the machine to see inside there is a roller where the paper passes under.Maybe inspect that area with a flash light.Or simply turn the printer upside down and listen if something is not loose inside the printer.Hope this will help.

Thanks for quick reply. Checked and no paper stuck in printer. With back cover off when I switch on the printer the cogs on the left hand side (looking at the back of the printer) chatter as though they are trying to spin the rod with the rubber rollers. The rod spins in one direction but is jammed in the other and there doesn't seem a way of releasing it.
Any ides? If not thanks for trying.
