I am getting a blue background on the control panel of a HP7740 printer with the code C9C70000. I can't get the print head and cartridges to move and have tried disconnection power and usb cable as suggested.

Hi @Botashney ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code "C9C70000" on the control panel of your HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-In-One Printer indicates a hardware issue. Since you've already tried disconnecting the power and USB cables without success, here are a few additional steps you can try:
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord.
- Turn on the printer.
Check for Obstructions:
- Ensure that there are no obstructions preventing the movement of the print head or cartridges.
- Open the printer cover and check for any paper jams or foreign objects.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Disconnect the other end of the power cord from the power outlet.
- Wait for about 2-3 minutes.
- Reconnect the power cord to the power outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer.
- Turn on the printer.
Update Firmware:
- Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer on the HP support website. If available, download and install the latest firmware.
Check for Physical Damage:
- Inspect the printer for any signs of physical damage, especially around the area where the printhead and cartridges are located.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
