Why won't my printer print CD labels?

Welcome to the HP User Community.

In general, some printers - with printer software installed - can print CD labels and other label templates / content.

"Why"?

No idea, though it is likely one or more of the requirements are not being met / adjusted / supported.

For example,

Has your unknown printer ever printed labels?

Is the full driver printer software installed?  This is important.  In almost every case, the job has a better chance of succeeding when the full driver printer software is installed and functional.

Also important:

Is the paper size and the paper type supported by your printer?

This one of those times that paper size and type matters.  Tray and Paper Management

Is the printer aware of the paper size and paper type that is loaded in the printer?

Paper weight plays an important part - not all paper weights are supported.

The Printing Preferences must be set / adjusted for the current job.

Yes, it used to print labels in the past. Should I uninstall and re-install?

Depends.

If everything else still prints except this one job type, it is likely just a job setting.

Depends on the paper size / type - is the printer aware you have loaded different paper?

Sure ...

If the printer software is, in your mind, a suspected source of the problem,

Uninstall the printer software > Restart the computer and sign in > Download-Save-Install a fresh copy of the full driver printer software > Restart the computer and sign in.
