I have read several reviews, in other forums, of CISS (continuous ink supply systems) where members experience of these shows mixed results. Some have found no problems with them (printer model seems to be relevant) others experienced print head blockage and even burn-out. Has anyone used these with good results?

Hi,
Few years back, I did post my tests with CISS, chip reset tools and self refilled cartridges kits and ending up not worth the effort.
A friend of mine told me: don't try to mucking around with new printers. For normal cheap printers, buy a new one when the first set of inks ran out could be cheaper.
Regards.

Some printers such as some Epsons reject non-oem ink carts.
My Epson XP-820 errors when I install a non Epson ink cart. However after resetting the ink carts it's firmware eventually leads to a menu where it asks if you want to continue with non-oem ink carts. The printer usually goes quite a long time until it produces a non-oem ink cart error.
After installing a CISS into the Epson XP-820 it works ok, but the top of the printer has little room for the ink tubing so in order to use the CISS one must leave the printer top open while printing.
There are Other Epsons that don't have this problem and there is enough room for CISS ink tubing so the printer can operate without the top being left open.
I find CISS to be much better than needing to order and install new ink carts quite often. CISS can be stored much longer than ink carts and last a much longer time than any of the ink carts which don't have a long shelf life, so when ordering you can only order a limited supply.
