Hi @molly133 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the "Code 7" error persists despite replacing the toner cartridges with brand new ones, it suggests there might be an issue with the printer itself. Here are some additional steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

Verify Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Ensure the toner cartridges you installed are compatible with your HP ENVY 7255e printer model.

Inspect Cartridge and Printer Contacts:

  • Remove the toner cartridges and inspect the contacts on both the cartridges and inside the printer. Ensure they are clean and free from any dirt or residue.
  • Reinstall the cartridges, making sure they click securely into place.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

Update Firmware:

  • Check for any available firmware updates for your printer. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve error codes and improve compatibility with new cartridges.
  • You can update the firmware through the HP Smart app or by downloading the latest firmware from the HP support website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
