I am trying to print documents from my laptop to the printer. The printer is online however I receive error messages when I try to print documents. I have shutdown and restated the computer, printer and network. When everything comes back online it still will not print. Is there something that I'm missing. Can you help?

I am having the same problem with a Smart Tank 7602. The EWS page shows the printer is ready, but when I go to any application on my MAC (WORD, EXCEL, EMAIL) the print dialog box shows it as offline. I have done all that has been suggested in many posts to no avail.

Hi @foggy1118,
I understand your HP printer is online but not printing documents. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.
Check Printer Connection
Make sure the printer and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network (preferably 2.4 GHz).
If using a USB cable, ensure it is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.
Remove and Reinstall the Printer
On your computer, go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners.
Select your printer and click Remove device, then restart the computer.
Reinstall the printer using the HP Smart app or the Full Feature Software from HP’s official website.
Restart the Print Spooler Service (Windows)
Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
Find Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Stop.
Open C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete all files in that folder.
Return to Services, right-click Print Spooler again, and select Start.
Check Firewall or Network Settings
Some routers have “AP Isolation” or “Client Isolation” that can prevent the printer from communicating with your PC.
Log in to your router settings and ensure these options are turned off.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows)
Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor from HP’s website.
Let the tool detect and automatically fix common printing and connection issues.
I hope this helps.
