LaserJet MFP M183fw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So I've just received my new printer for work LaserJet Pro MFP M183fw,
I've followed all the instruction and downloaded the app HP Smart and it says everything is ready so I decided to give it a test print, however, upon pressing the print button on the computer it produces an error code 0x80040154, I've done searches online and can't seem to find anything other than advice such as hard reset by unplugging when its idle which didn't fix it at all so now I'm stuck. I've tried it on multiple devices and all produced the same error code.

I did, however, find another article where another person had the same problem however the HP tech support person said the tech support person will be contacting them in private message so I know I don't know what to do.

Does anyone have any idea or solution to this?
It would be very kind and helpful 🙂

@JGuo, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.
  • Which application are you trying to print from?
  • Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word, or Webpages and check if the issue persists?

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Try printing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
