Normal printing is just fine. However, as of today it will not print PDFs. Printed PDFs before today just fine. Turned off and on the printer. Rebooted my Chromebook. It printed a normal email just fine. Says to check printer.

Hi @Patty9,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Chromebook is having trouble printing PDFs but can print other documents, there could be a few possible reasons for the issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
Check Printer Connection: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your Chromebook and turned on. Verify that both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Update Printer Firmware/Drivers: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the printer's firmware or drivers can often resolve compatibility issues.
Clear Print Spooler: Sometimes, print jobs in the print spooler can get stuck and cause printing issues. Try clearing the print spooler by following these steps.
- Open the Chrome browser on your Chromebook.
- Type chrome://devices in the address bar and press Enter.
- Under "Printers," find your printer and click "Manage."
- Click on the "Clear spooler" button.
Use a Different PDF Viewer: Try using a different PDF viewer to open and print the PDFs. If you are using the default Chrome PDF viewer, try installing a third-party PDF viewer from the Chrome Web Store and see if that helps.
Check PDF File: Ensure that the specific PDF file you are trying to print is not corrupted or damaged. Try printing a different PDF file to see if the issue persists.
Check Printer Settings: Verify that the printer settings, such as paper size and orientation, are correctly configured for printing PDFs. Sometimes, incorrect settings can cause printing problems.
Try Printing from Another Device: If possible, attempt to print the PDF from another device (e.g., a different computer or smartphone) to determine if the issue is specific to your Chromebook or related to the printer.
Update Chrome OS: Make sure your Chromebook is running the latest version of Chrome OS. Updates often include bug fixes and improvements that could resolve printing issues.
Restart Printer and Chromebook: Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on. Afterward, restart your Chromebook and try printing the PDF again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
