Office jet 8610 all in one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi any suggestions please.

I have a HP officejet 8610 and to change page sizes that are not on the sizes that drop down in program you have to go into device printer settings and make a new form by renaming , putting in new size and saving form. You can then find your new setting in the drop down menu when you select paper size in your printer options. It was all great and worked fine but now it has stopped working. I have tried everything even wiped my computer totally and set up windows again from start but it still doesn’t work. I have no idea what to do next? Anybody know what to try next?  Please !!!!!

@Rainbows4me, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Check for any pending Windows update.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and and click on 'Fix printing'.

If the above steps do not help, perform a clean re-installation of HP Full featured drivers, Follow these steps:

  1.  In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
  2.  Select your HP Printer
  3.  Select Uninstall
  4.  In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
  5.  In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
  6.  Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
  7.  Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
  8.  Click on the “Drivers” tab
  9.  Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
  10.  Select Ok
  11.  Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
  12.  Close Devices and Printers, restart the computer.

Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

To know how to create a custom size, refer to this document.

Thank you, I have tried this, I have done this with a HP customer service person and tried once downloading the full package driver and taken all out again and tried with basic driver.  The printer works fine but I cannot change the paper size . It saves as a new form but when I open a document to print the new sizes are not in the drop down list. I have even wiped windows off my laptop and installed and updated everything.

Any more ideas? It’s driving me crazy

Try installing the freshly downloaded Full featured driver in Compatibility mode for Win 7 and check if that helps.

Once the driver is downloaded, which would appear as OJ8610_.exe, Right click on the install package, go to properties, Compatibility tab, put a check in the box next to Run this program in compatibility mode for: then in the dropdown box, select Windows 7 and hit apply/OK. Then run the package.

Hi actually I’m quite savvy and worked out how to do that the update is 8610 not 8620.

Do I need to remove the driver at source 1st or can I do it from the exe file that I already have?

Sorry for all the questions

@Rainbows4me

Yes, you will have to uninstall the drivers and then go to the EXE file and run it in compatibility mode as stated in my previous post.

Feel free to reach out if any questions. Keep me posted.
