Laser 107w
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

I've just purchased a Laser 107w printer and try to set it up. I want to connect it to my wifi network and use it as a network printer.

I've downloaded the HP driver installer. The printer is temporarily connected to my notebook via USB. I know the SSID and the network password of the wifi network. Security is WPA2-PSK.

I can't get printer to connect to the wifi network, because the install wizard allows me to enter only 63 characters in the network password field, but my password is 64 character long. Changing the password is not an option.

Any ideas how to solve this?

Thank you!

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

You can either connect the Printer wirelessly or via the USB.  Not both at the same time.

Let me know if this helps.

Hello,

thank you for your support.

You seem not to fully understand my issue, though.

I want to use the printer wirelessly, not via USB. But first I need to configure the printer so that it can connect to the wifi network. This configuration is done from the install software and for the time of the configuration the printer needs to be connected (temporarily) to my laptop via USB, so that the software can access it.

The issue is that the software is buggy: The validation rules of the network password field are wrong and it doesn't accept 64 characters.

I would appreciate if you channeled this back to the software developers so that they fix the bug.

Also, if you have any workaround ideas, please let me know.

Thank you,

Tibor
