Operating System: Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite

I've had my printer for 2 weeks and it has been working perfectly. Yesterday our wifi disconnected for a few minutes (the router was unplugged) now I can't print anything. The printer is showing as connected to the network and has a full signal but I cannot connect my laptop or phone to the printer, they say they can't see any printing devices on the network. I have tried all the troubleshooting pages on the HP website but nothing has worked. Does anyone know can I reconnect my devices to my printer? It is now completely unusable as nothing can see it on the network.

Hi @JillRow

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

  • Make sure the printer and the MAC are connected to the same wireless network.
  • This printer supports only 2.4GHz network. So, the MAC should be on the 2.4GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

 

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your MAC.

Use WPS to connect the printer to your wireless network.

Refer to this document to know how to connect the printer on the wireless network.
