HP Envy 5640 e-all-in-one printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I tried relentlessly to print (a test page) but nothing seems to work after downloading and installing the HP Envy 5640 e-all-in-one printer drivers on my new HP Pavilion laptop. Yes I downloaded the latest driver version. And yes I tried many times to delete and reinstall the software without succeeding at printing. I am using the wireless printing function. Strangely enough, I am able to scan. On my old laptop I can still easily print wireless. Fixing the print spooler service also does not work. The error message I get has to do with splwow64.exe. It says "functionaddress 0x47135299 caused a protection fault. (exception code 0xe06d7363). Another error that I get is that the printer experienced an unexpected configuration problem, code 0x80004005. Can someone help me out with this?

Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips. Thank you for posting your query. I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

Since you are able to print from your old laptop, I suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the printer driver on your new laptop and try printing again.

Use the method below to remove all existing print drivers installed on your PC:
1.) In Windows, search for and open Apps & features.
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Printers &Scanners
5.) In the Printers &Scanners windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Once the drivers are removed, to download and install the software and driver: Click here

I tried this solution many times in vain. I even reinstalled Windows 10 again on my laptop and then installed the newest HP print drivers but I'm still unable to print.

Thank you for responding, I am sorry those steps did not work for you. Please try these steps:

Install latest Windows update.

Run SFC Scan to fix the corrupted files, if any : Click here

Temporarily disable Firewall and try printing again.

As an alternate solution, use HP Smart App: Click here
