Found this on Apple discussion who found it on another HP thread.

It worked for me!

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printing-Errors-or-Lights-Stuck-Print-Jobs/Driver-Certificate-Expired-...

EDIT: for every job I have printed so far the printer dialog box says:

Printing - Can't open "/private/var/spool/cups/tmp/********" (a different number for each job)

Happy I can print now, will worry about this hiccup later

Yes, I just tried this and I can confirm it worked for me too. I think it's a workaround as there's still a minor error when printing, but it means I can use all the printer functions again until there is an official solution rolled out. I can also use HP Utility again.

Using HP EasyStart or EasyAdmin didn't work, because my printer (Deskjet 2000) wasn't listed in those programs.

I called apple and they worked through it. said it was HP. HP is not anywhere to be found to fix the driver

Same problem with my otherwise perfectly reliable HP Deskjet 5740.  I am able to do a somewhat cumbersome workaround by plugging it into my old iMac running High Sierra and using the home network to print, but it is HUGELY INCONVENIENT.  Apple Support suggested installing HP Software Update 5.1 but it did nothing.  Still getting this:

One or more components of the HP printing software are corrupted or missing. The print job cannot be completed. To fix this situation, HP recommends reinstalling the print driver software.

It also says "Stopped - 'Filter' failed"

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Same problem, same messages. Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7 with an HP OfficeJet 7410 All-in-One (7400 series). Resetting printer system, installing latest drivers, and adding the printer back (via both USB and wireless) gets the same, infuriating message. Please help!

Thanks for this. I downloaded and installed the package and it has worked only partially for my HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2516. Now i can scan but when i send something to print a message says ¨waiting for printer to become available¨ when it is available, no printing jobs other than the one i am sending. So, for now, i cannot print and i don't know what else to do. I tried everything that has been shared on this thread unsuccessfully.

Great!

I confirm that this solution worked also with my Mac OS X Catalina 10.15.7 and my HP DeskJet 3050 j610a printer.

Thank you for your help!

I don't know why or how, but today I connect the printer HP Desktop F4580 and the Mac with Catalina and it works.

I was ready to download and install the pkg mentioned here, but it has been no necessary. The Mac hasn't downloaded or updated anything. I don't understand but it works.

As someone said some time ago... It's a kind of magic.
