Having this same error as well.
Was able to print fine last week, but went to print today and was told that parts of the software were malware trying to harm my computer, and got multiple communication failures. Usually the communication failures are solved by unplugging and plugging back in again, or deleting and reinstalling the printer, but no dice this time. Finally got a different error (not even sure what I did to get that) that says
'One or more components of the HP printing software are corrupted or missing. The print job cannot be completed. To fix this situation, HP recommends reinstalling the print driver software.'
Like someone else said, really weird that everyone is getting this issue at the same time. For reference I'm running Mac OSX 10.15.5, and my printer is an HP Photosmart 7515.
EDITED TO ADD: Just used my mothers windows computer and had absolutely no issues. Go figure 😅

I'm wondering if the malware issue is part of it. I saw that in someone else's comment, too. It didn't happen to me, but... the night before all of this started, I used the 'CleanMyMac' app, as I do periodically, to scan for malware. I remember it found a few files and deleted them, but I didn't even bother to review them and see what they were. Perhaps they were what corrupted the printer files. I assume most of us use malware protectors, so maybe this happened to all of us. My only problem with that scenario is the fact that I uninstalled and reinstalled the software three times to try and get the printer working. If files were corrupted, they would've been erased during uninstallation and replaced with new driver files when It was reinstalled. So, it's a bit of a conundrum. One I wish that HP would get around to addressing.

I also use cleanmymac!! FWIW, I didn't run a scan yesterday and hadn't deleted any files.
I agree with you re: uninstalling / reinstalling. Every time I deleted the printer from my printer list and re-added it, it warned me of malware. Something interesting- usually I would have to manually re-add my printer (pressing the + button on printers and scanners in system prefs, selecting the printer and hitting add) ...but today as soon as I plugged it in it added itself, then immediately complained of malware lol. I did a cleanmymacscan after it complained of malware and it found nothing, but who knows.

Yes, my Deskjet F4140 abruptly stopped working with both my Mac mini desktop AND my partner's AirBook. The AirBook keeps insisting it's malware (it's not), while my desktop says the certificate has expired. Suddenly, HP and Apple are NOT playing well together! I've redownloaded and reinstalled the printer software TWICE now but nothing has changed, just the same message about HP Utility now missing. Our jobs depend on this printer, HP!
