Reloaded new cartridges and ever since it will not print- the various alarm lights will not stop despite everything being done. Not really sure what else to do at this point

Hi @Yooper64,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to deal with alarm lights that won't stop despite reloading new cartridges. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue with your HP ENVY Pro 6455 printer.

  • Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the cartridges are correctly installed. Sometimes, they might not be seated properly, leading to errors.
  • Check Cartridge Covers: Some HP printers have cartridge covers that need to be removed before installation. Ensure these covers are properly removed.
  • Reset the Printer: Power off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 1-2 minutes, and then plug it back in. Power it on and check if the alarm lights persist.
  • Check for Paper Jams: Even if the printer is not indicating a paper jam, check all possible areas (input tray, output tray, and cartridge access area) for any stuck paper or debris.
  • Inspect for Obstructions: Open the printer’s front and rear access doors (if applicable) to check for any obstructions that may be causing the issue.
  • Update Firmware: Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually update this through the printer's control panel or via the HP Smart app.
  • Factory Reset: As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on the printer. This will reset all settings to their defaults. Instructions for this can usually be found in the printer’s manual or on HP’s support website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
