Hi all, I hope you can help me.
Last week the power went out and now I have an exclamation point on the printer. I tried to do an analisys with software "HP smart" and it says there are problem with the queue. It seems like there is something to print. I already switched off the printer twice but nothing changed.

Hi @TM_ADT,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing a print job stuck in the print queue, which is causing your HP LaserJet MFP M234sdwe printer to show an error.
Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:
Clear the Print Queue
On Windows:
Open the Print Queue:
- Click on the Start menu and go to Control Panel.
- Click on Devices and Printers (or View devices and printers).
- Find your printer, right-click on it, and select See what's printing.
Cancel All Documents:
- In the print queue window, click on Printer in the menu bar.
- Select Cancel All Documents.
Restart the Print Spooler Service:
- Open the Run dialog by pressing Win + R.
- Type services.msc and press Enter.
- Find the Print Spooler service in the list, right-click on it, and select Restart.
On macOS:
Open the Print Queue:
- Open System Preferences from the Apple menu.
- Click on Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click on Open Print Queue.
Clear the Queue:
- Select the print jobs and click the X button to delete them.
Check for Software Updates
Update Printer Drivers:
- Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
- Install the drivers and follow any prompts.
Update HP Smart Software:
- Ensure that your HP Smart software is up to date. You can check for updates within the software itself or download the latest version from the HP website.
Power Cycle the Printer
Turn Off the Printer:
- Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 1-2 minutes.
Restart the Printer:
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Reinstall the Printer
Remove the Printer:
- Go to Devices and Printers (Windows) or Printers & Scanners (macOS).
- Remove the printer from the list of devices.
Reinstall the Printer:
- Add the printer back by following the prompts to install it again.
Additional Troubleshooting
Check for Paper Jams: HP LaserJet MFP M232-M237 printers - Paper jam error
- Ensure there are no paper jams or any obstructions inside the printer.
Check Network Connection:
- Make sure your printer is connected to the network properly if it's a network printer.
Factory Reset (if necessary):
- As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on the printer. Refer to the printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
Refer to this document: HP LaserJet MFP M234sdwe Printer User manual
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
