Welcome to the HP Support Community. 

 

To automatically clean the cartridges from the printer's control panel, try these steps -

 

1. Load Letter or A4 unused plain white paper into the input tray.
2. From the printer control panel display, touch Setup.
3. Touch Printer Maintenance, select Clean Printhead, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

 

If you wish to manually clean the ink cartridges, try step#14 from this document.
