Can I use this unit with Ethernet cable on my desktop and my laptops will use WiFi at the same time without changing anything?

Like in the good old days when you could do this all of the time without asking.  Since HP has concentrated on WiFi, if you are on USB or Ethernet, those on WiFi are  out of luck.

I have been given answers from HP support, but each time I had asked, got a different answer.

So the question is can both be use at the same time or not?

Unfortunately, you wouldn't be able to do that. You can have USB and wireless at the same time though.
