I cannot find in this printer properties HOW to print a test page. I had run out of black ink, and all the color cartridges were rather new and not showing low levels. But, after replacing the black cartridge the first test doc printed came out very spotty and unreadable.  There were no error messages.  How do I get into the diagnostics on this printer to test print?  I did not try to print a color doc (like a photo) yet.

Do I need to update the driver?  Please help.

Hi,

Printing test page options available under print driver properties for you device.

But I don't think that solv your problem.

You need to do print alignment and other test to fix the print quality issues.

Here is the document form HP website, gives detailed steps.

The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve black not printing on your Officejet 6000 printer.   Solution Six in the document here has information on printing a test page.

Hi Samis71,

I think this document may help you.

It describes how to check ink levels and how to clean the printheads to resolve print quality issues.

I hope this helps you out!

Just got a test print after cleaning the print head myself, thanks to forum suggestions.  It looks OK, and thanks for helping although did not need realignment.
