Product: Deskjet 2540
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

My Deskjet 2540 has been set up wirelessly for a long time. I now find I cannot find the ink levels.  The instructions on the HP website get me nowhere:

 

From HP Printer Assistant I select Utilities then Printer Setup and Software.

A pop up then appears asking me if I want to allow the following programme to make changes to this computer.  If I select no, the pop up closes and I'm no further forward.  If I select yes the options I get are to connect a new pritner, to reconfigure wireless settings or to add more software.  None of these are what I want. 

 

It's driving me potty - can you help please?
