Tray 2 is useless. I select it as default tray, but the printer still picks up paper from Tray 1. I tried printing from Tray 1 with just 2 sheets expecting it would then pick up paper from Tray 2 when Tray 1 is empty. (User guide says it is supposed to do this.)
The ONLY way I have been able to print on the paper in Tray 2 was when I set the COPY Tray default to Tray 2. Other than that one thing, I may as well not have a 2nd tray at all.
In the print menu under Paper Source, there are only 2 options - Auto Select and Tray 1. NOWHERE can I seem to select Tray 2.
This is a VERY POOR example of HP technology when what you say works does not. HOW do I use the paper in Tray 2 for printing and not just for when I am copying a document.

Hi! @Ann51, Welcome to HP forums.
I understand that your printer is not picking the paper from tray 2 when you set it as default.
Don't worry I will try to help you out.
It looks to be a driver issue.
Please uninstall the printer drivers from control panel.
Also, Go to devices and printers and select print server properties and remove the printer from the list.
Restart your PC and install the full feature printer driver using this link and setup your printer.
Let me know if this works!
Have a beautiful day ahead! 🙂

This install software worked from your link and Tray 2 is now recognized. Thanks!! I wonder why this is not the same software that is downloaded from the HP site when you load the CD and it gives the option to download from online.
Anyway, this worked and thanks.
