Cannot get this machine to print without borders when using the copier.

When I straight copy, it leaves about an 1/4 inch all the way around the paper.

When I enlarge images to fit the whole page but it leaves 1/2 an inch on each side and about 1/8h of an inch top and bottom.     There is no setting on the printer or in the app that this can be removed.  And honestly  if I can't fix it this thing is going back is defective.  I bought it in particular for making my own designed cardstock and the image has to go to the edge.

Hello, @Seadog888 – Greetings!

Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums! I’d like to help 🙂

I see that you are trying to make a borderless copy using the new Envy printer. You can try to use the “Fit to Page” option in order to print borderless using your printer. Check the steps below:

  1. Press the copy option on the printer control panel.
  2. Now, touch the Settings icon
  3. Touch the Resize options and then select "Fit to Page".
  4. Now, touch start copy and check.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Cheers 🙂

Thank you for respinding.  I had already tried that though before posting the problem.   Like I said before. Am trying to enlarge a pattern  to  fill the page of a regular piece of paper.

Hello, @Seadog888

I'm afraid that is the only option to make a borderless copy. If not, you will have to print from the PC with the borderless settings.

Try to print from your Pc and check if it is printing borderless.

Let me know how that goes!

I'm making a copy....IDK  how you would do that from a PC

Hello, @Seadog888

You need to first scan the file to your PC and then print the same file from your PC.

This is just a workaround. Hope that helps!

Good luck 🙂

I haven't had a chance to thoroughly research this (and I'm presently trying to find a manual for the priinter), but I was able to print borderless on a pc using 4 x 6 photo paper.  The one photo I printed came out very well.  I had to be careful to set all the printer "specs" carefully--especially in the "advanced" section, which is where I think "borderless" is listed as an option.

However, like you, I want to print borderless greeting cards and, in this, I am disappointed.

I have 5 x 7 card stock that is 10 x 7 when opened out flat.  I design the whole outside of the card (front and back of a folded card but not the inside necessarily) and want it to print out on the 10 x 7 paper. For the moment ignoring that you have to set a custom paper size in Windows before choosing the print settings, which I did quite a long time ago, the 10 x 7 design did not print out borderless, but had maybe a quarter inch margin all around.

So, I think I have the same problem you have. I do hope it's resolvable, but from discussions I had a few years ago with several techs at several companies about this issue, I am a bit doubtful.

Good luck.gs

So, now I'm replying to myself.

After trying hp Photo Creations, I think I will not be able to create and/or print a 7 x 10 card there.  One cannot create a truly custom-sized card, it appears.  The card choices are standard sizes.

I also spent a lot of time trying various selections in the printer properties areas and basically concluded that one can only print one size photo borderless, and that is 4 x 6, which works well.  If you choose paper and photo that are 7 x 10, choosing the "borderless" option throws you back to 4 x 6. Also, if you choose 7 x 10 paper, choosing "print actual size" for the photo is not permitted.

The next time I visit the forum, I will ask these questions and see if someone can help.
