OfficeJet 5744
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After months of successful printing, I recently encountered a problem.  Now, when I send a print job from my PC to the OfficeJet, it fails to print.  The document does not show up in the print queue.  Both the PC and printer are connected to the same WiFi network.  The device driver and Windows software are up to date.  HP and MS diagnostics can connect to the printer but cannot detect any problems.  I can print to this OfficeJet without trouble from other devices connected to the network.  This is very perplexing and disruptive.  Your help would be much appreciated.

Welcome to HP support community.

Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor

Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor to automatically diagnose and resolve printer hardware and connection issues.

Rename the HPBXPSRENDER.DLL file\Right-click the Start button  or the lower left corner of the screen, click Search, and then type %windir%.

  1. Double-click the System 32 folder, double-click the Spool folder, and then double-click the Drivers folder.

  2. Double-click the x64 folder or the w32x86 folder, depending on your operating system, and then double-click the 3 folder.

  3. Right-click the HPBXPSRENDER.DLL file, and then click Rename.

  4. Delete the DLL suffix, type OLD in its place, and then press Enter. The file name now displays as HPBXPSRENDER.OLD.

  5. When the "If you change the file name extension, the file might become unstable. Are you sure you want to change it?" message displays, click Yes.

  6. Close the window.
