I cannot get my HP 4655 printer to print on both sides of the page when prining from my MAC computer (box is checked for 2-sided printing). My son has a Windows laptop computer and is able to get 2-sided printing. How do I get 2-sided printing to work for my MAC? It is a wireless connection for both computers. Thank you.

Hi @uoduck1,
Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community. I reviewed the case regarding issues with duplex printing using your Mac. I will be delighted to assist you here.
Superb description, brilliant troubleshooting and terrific observations made before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂
For better clarity and to assist you correctly, I would require more information regarding this:
- Did this happen after a software or OS update?
- Did you uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers and check again?
For now please try these steps:
- Please reset the mac printing system from this link: http://hp.care/2gOrf2g
- Then add the printer by following these steps:
1.)Click the Apple menu icon, and then click System Preferences.
2.) Click Printers and Scanners, Print and Scan, or Print and Fax.
3.) In the Printers list, click your HP printer, and then click the Minus button to delete it.
4.) Click the Add button.
5.) Find, and then select the name of your printer from the Printer list, and then click Add to add your printer. Do not select an HP Fax driver.
6.) Click the Use or Print Using box, and then select the name of your printer.
7.) Avoid the AirPrint driver. Once the correct HP driver is chosen, select Add to add the printer to the list.
8.) Try to print.
- This should do the trick for you.
- This link: http://hp.care/2xT2kRD shows you how to configure and use double-sided printing.
This link: http://hp.care/2xTofZ4 gives you information on how to change the printer settings and could be useful.
Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient, Going by your technical expertise and competence I am sure you will be able to perform these steps without breaking a sweat. 🙂
Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help.
If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
Take care now and have a splendid week ahead. 🙂
