I'm trying to print from a Windows 10 machine to a HP Laserjet MFP M130 printer which just stopped printing. I have spent about 6 hours now searching the internet, trying MS and HP troubleshooters to know avail. The devices are on the same network. I've restarted both numerous times. Same with deleting the printer and reinstalling it and the drivers. I cleared the temp files. I finally got it to work after hour 4, but then MS came out with a new update the next day, and it hasn't worked since. I did a system restore to before the update, but that won't work either. I'm on the cusp of just purchasing a new, non-HP printer because this is such a huge waste of time. Anyone with a new idea about what I cant try? I've been through this before with this printer, but have been able to solve the problem, but not this time. Thanks for any help you can provide!

There was a major W10 update in May which I surmise has caused compatibility problems with many HP printers. You probably already know that both MS and manufacturers (common across various hardware) provide drivers, and sometimes one will work and the other not, or an update to the OS will bork the hardware driver (which I suspect is happening to a lot of folks).
On the Support page for your printer, there is a firmware update in June which certainly looks to coincide with the W10 update. I have seen firmware updates elsewhere, same thing, issued shortly after the OS update. So, first suggestion, update the firmware and reboot. Then check your printer.
If no joy, install the newest 5.3.1.004 version of the Print & Scan Doctor, also on Support page. It is dated May 28, again shortly after the W10 update. A few minutes with it could be helpful.
There was also an update to the Easy Start installation utility for your printer. As a last resort, you could try deleting the printer altogether and reinstalling it with Easy Start.
Good luck!

Thanks. It was the late June update that caused the problem. I did the firmware update. Also tried Print and Scan doctor. Deleted and reinstalled printer multiple times. Still no joy. The SECOND time I added a new printer port and used that for the printer printing joy was found. I have no idea why two tries were required.
