when sending something to print it will show 1 item pending for about 5 seconds and will then change to 0 items pending without printing. I have restarted the spooler, rebooted the computer and the printer multiple times, and lastly I have made a hard-wire connection and a print job still does not get past the spooler.

Hi @WMH1070,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for the detailed info—this issue, where print jobs disappear from the queue without printing in Windows 11, especially after updates or driver conflicts. Since you've already tried restarting the spooler, rebooting, and even using a wired connection, here’s a more advanced step-by-step fix:

1. Fully Remove and Reinstall the Printer Driver

Sometimes the driver gets corrupted or mismatched:

  1. Remove the Printer:
    • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
    • Select your printer and click Remove device.
  2. Delete Driver from Print Server:
    • Press Win + R, type printui.exe /s, and press Enter.
    • Go to the Drivers tab.
    • Select your printer driver and click Remove.
  3. Reboot your PC.
  4. Download the Latest Driver:
    • Visit HP’s driver page for your model.
    • Download and install the Full Software Solution for your printer.

2. Clear the Print Spooler Manually

  1. Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Find Print Spooler, right-click, and choose Stop.
  3. Navigate to:
    C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
    (You may need admin access.)
  4. Delete all files in this folder.
  5. Go back to Services.msc and start the Print Spooler again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
