Hi, I am unable to print in A4 size eventhough I can select the size A4. Whenever I am trying to print a A4 size document, the paper will get stuck and print stops, resume button flashing until I cleat the paper pressing it. I can print kn smaller size like 5x7 easily from my mobile or laptop. Initially I thought it's bcos of the file size and waited long to get it fully transfer the file from source to printer but in vain. I used to print any size in the last but now!!! Please help if someone knows the solution as my kids have got a lot of homework to print. Thanks

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

This would be clearer if we  had any idea about

  • The printer model,
  • The Operating System / version,
  • The connection type,
  • The content type,
  • Which software or application you are using to open, view, configure, and submit the job to the printer,

OK...

Working with what we have.

The source of the issue is perhaps that the printer is not aware of the Paper Size / type - Tray and Paper.

If your printer lacks a text input capable printer control panel,

Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to adjust / check the Paper Size / Type - Tray and Paper

EWS is available via your browser and from within the HP Smart application.

Example - Retain / Modify (Edit) / Check Paper Size & Type - Tray and Paper

Retain_Printing_Preferences_16Retain_Printing_Preferences_16

The rest of the setup depends on

  • The Operating System / version
  • The software / application you are using to open, view, set, and submit the job to the printer
  • Whether the paper size / type are supported by the printer
  • The Source (Tray) and possibly how the tray is selected (Automatic or Tray selected)
  • Whether the combination of paper size, paper type, and Source (tray) are acceptable when selected together during job submission
