I purchased an HP Officejet Pro 8620 on 12/17/15 from a local retailer. I purchased a 3-year Care Pack online from HP on 12/20/15. I received the Care Pack on 12/26/15 and went online to register it. When doing that, I received an error message: “REG041:(Weak Warranty) The submitted Hardware products cannot be verified.To complete HP Care Pack registration, please contact HP and provide Hardware Proof of Purchase”. On 12/28/15 I faxed (to 541-715-5522) a copy of my sales receipt, a copy of the identifying label from the printer carton, and a copy of the completed “HP Care Pack Registration Card”. I expected to receive an email notification of registration, but I have received nothing from HP. A phone call from me wouldn’t help since they wanted “Proof of Purchase”. Does anyone know how I can find out what’s happening?

For this issue you would either need to call the phone number printed on the Care Pack registration card or contact HP tech support. You can contact tech support by clicking on this link and filling out the form at the bottom.

Thank you for your reply. While your advice didn't directly solve my problem, it did point me in the right direction for dealing with this sort of difficulty. I went to the Support chat line and corresponded with "Ryan", who unfortunately had a proor grasp of English. "Ryan" did escalate  my case to a Case Manager ("Vathany"), who responded today...though I wasn't available when the call came in. Anyhow, the problem no longer exists, and I so notified "Vathany".  While I was waiting for the Case Manager to reply, I went back online to try once more to register my Care Pack through "normal" channels and I was then able to successfully register my Care Pack...no error message...just like my previous experiences with registering Care Packs. Case closed.

Hi I have buy Care pack 3 years but i cant find the serialnumber any where? it says Enter the HP Care Pack serial number(s) then select the <next> button to proceed. The HP Care Pack serial number may be printed on your registration card and will have a similar format as KD2335230207

 

and i cant find it any where....

If you have received the "HP Care Pack Certificate", the serial number of the Care Pack is located on the front page of that Certificate. If this doesn't answer your problem, please refer to DocCottle response earlier in this thread. He has a link ("clicking on this link") that will refer your to HP support to help you further. I hope this helps.

After purchasing the Care Pack online (HP), the Certificate was mailed to my address. The Certificate can be registered according to instructions that come with the Certificate.
