HP Officejet Pro 6975

I am getting a Cartridge Problem error, I've gone through all of the troubleshooting steps via the HP Support page for my product. The reason I'm getting the message is because I purchased non-OEM cartridges, not knowing they would not work with my HP printer. I previously had a Canon printer and never had this issue, hence why I purchased them again for this printer. Is there possibly a work around for this? I'm currently in the process of checking on getting a refund for the cartridges I bought and I also signed up for HP Instant Ink, since I now know I can't use these cartridges. If anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!
