Hi @Thor4001,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "cartridge carriage stalled" error can be particularly frustrating, but there are several steps you can try to resolve it. You mentioned that you've gone through all the standard troubleshooting steps, but let's review some possible solutions that might help:

Check for Obstructions: Open the printer and ensure there are no paper jams or foreign objects in the carriage path of the printer.

Clean the Carriage Path: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the carriage path. Dust, paper fiber, or other debris can obstruct the carriage movement.

Inspect the Carriage for Damage: Look for any visible damage to the carriage itself or the carriage belt. Any damage might require parts to be repaired or replaced.

Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it for about a minute, and then plug it back in. This can sometimes resolve internal error states.

Lubricate the Carriage Rails: Apply a light lubricant designed for electronics to the rails on which the carriage slides. This can help if the carriage is getting stuck due to friction.

Update Printer Firmware: Check the manufacturer's website for firmware updates. An outdated firmware can lead to issues with hardware performance.

Reinstall the Cartridges: Remove the ink cartridges and reinstall them, ensuring they are properly seated and locked into place.

Check the Encoder Strip: This is a clear plastic strip running along the printer. If it's dirty, the printer might not track the carriage's position correctly. Clean it gently with a soft, lint-free cloth.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I spent hours doing all the steps you mentioned and I’m still getting the cartridge carriage stalled error. I still have a warranty on my printer and I would like to use it as there is clearly something else wrong with my printer
