Hi @TiffanyG1 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you've tried various troubleshooting steps and still encounter the "Cartridge damaged" error with your HP Officejet Pro 8610 printer,
Here are some additional suggestions you can try:
Check for Firmware Updates: Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve issues with cartridge detection. Visit the HP support website, enter your printer model, and see if there are any firmware updates available. If so, download and install them according to the provided instructions. Update the firmware on an HP printer
Reset the Printer: Perform a semi-full reset on the printer. This can often resolve many hardware-related issues. Here's how to do it:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the printer.
- Turn the printer on if it does not do so automatically.
- Check if the error persists.
Inspect Cartridge Contacts: Ensure that the contacts on both the cartridge and inside the printer are clean and free of any debris. Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water to gently clean the contacts. Be careful not to touch the nozzles or electrical contacts with your fingers.
Try a Different Cartridge: If you have access to another compatible cartridge, try inserting it into the printer to see if the error persists. This will help determine if the issue lies with the cartridge itself or with the printer.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
