I recently put in new cartridges in my Envy 6000 printer. It was able to print with the cartridges that came with the printer, but the ones I received in the mail are larger and not reading on the printer. I'm now unable to print. The error message that is coming up is "E0"

Hi @kendall95,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The “E0” error on your HP Envy 6000 usually indicates a problem with the ink cartridges or their installation. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot this issue:
Check Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that the cartridges you received are compatible with the HP Envy 6000. Sometimes cartridges from different models or series might look similar but aren’t interchangeable.
Reinstall Cartridges:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Remove the cartridges carefully, making sure you handle them by the sides and avoid touching the nozzles or contacts.
- Check for any protective tape or seals that might still be on the cartridges. Remove any tape or protective coverings.
- Reinsert the cartridges, making sure they click into place securely.
Check Cartridge Contacts:
- Examine the gold or copper contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer for any dirt or obstruction.
- Gently clean the contacts with a lint-free cloth or a cotton swab moistened with distilled water.
Inspect the Printer for Obstructions:
- Ensure there’s no debris or obstruction inside the cartridge area that might be causing issues.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Sometimes, a firmware update can resolve compatibility issues. Check the HP website or the HP Smart app for any available updates.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for about 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in, turn it on, and try printing again.
Check for Printer Alerts:
- Look at the printer's control panel or the HP Smart app for any additional error messages or alerts that might provide more information.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi, I did all that you've mentioned in this post but nothing worked. These cartridges were sent to me by HP when I first set up my printer. The printer works with the smaller cartridges it came with but not these ones. I'm really annoyed that I cannot print anything when I need to.
